Hello I’m Amey, your SEO guide, and I want to share my personal experience about learning SEO. When I started learning about Digital Marketing and SEO it felt confusing and to be honest it was overwhelming at first. There were a lot of things to understand and remember for example – keywords, rankings, backlinks and I did not know where exactly to begin.

If you feel the same, remember you are not alone!

In this blog I am sharing 10 simple SEO tips which will help you to get started right away.

1. Understanding search intent

It is crucial to understand the intent or reasoning behind a user’s query. If your content matches what the users are looking for, you have a higher chance of ranking on the SERP

There are four types of search intent –

  • Informational
  • Navigational
  • Transactional
  • Commercial

2. Keyword Research

In keyword research the main focus should be on search volume, keyword difficulty, relevance and competition.

Don’t just guess, use these tools as below –

  • Ubersuggest
  • Google keyword Planner

3. Use Keywords Naturally

The keywords should not be overused but it should be used naturally as it may lead to a term called as keyword stuffing and we don’t want that to happen. While using keywords your main focus should be on readability and using keywords in headings and finally, the overall content should feel natural to the reader.

4.  Write for Users and Rank for Google

In my personal opinion Google’s goal is simple: “Show helpful content to users” it’s as simple as that.

Focus on clarity, simplicity and value and Google will reward it.

5. Optimizing your Headings

A well structured blog makes it easier for the user to understand and read.

H1 is the Title

H2 are the Main sections

H3 are the Subpoints

Why do this? Well the answer is to achieve a great user experience and optimize your SEO performance.

6. Content is KING!

Always ask yourself this question: “Does this actually help someone?”

To improve quality add examples, explain clearly and just avoid all the fluff. High quality content helps to keep the user engaged and increase your rankings.

7. Usage of Internal Links

It basically means linking one blog to another on your website.

What happens then you might be wondering right?

Well it helps users navigate, improves SEO and distributes authority.

For an example: Link your “keyword research” blog inside your “SEO Tips” blog.

8. Adding External Links

When you link to trusted websites it helps to build credibility.

For an example: Tools, statistics and references but make sure to keep it relevant and do not overdo it.

9. Optimize images with ALT text

Having images is great! But did you know they also help in SEO?

The thumb rule is that you always add ALT Text.

This helps to understand your content better.

10. Stay Consistent

One thing you have to remember is that SEO is not a one-time effort but a long-term process. Regular publishing and improvement are key. Consistency helps to build authority over time.

To conclude, you may find SEO at first but once you understand the basics, trust me it becomes easier.

Results won’t come overnight but they will come only if you learn step by step, apply consistently and improve over time is the true mantra.
